Description

The hiring entity is a satellite IP technology company based in the DC area that delivers products and services on a global basis. The position is primarily responsible for the administration of the employee benefits programs. The position will also be involved with compensation issues and ad hoc HR project management. The role serves as the primary contact for all employee benefit questions and relative employee relations. Also, the role will be a resource to executive management in the conversion of a benefits program to a self insured model and facilitate accurate and timely resolution of employee benefits issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manages the conversion of the current benefits plan to a self funded model and handles the day-to-day administration of the programs

  • Responds to employee questions regarding benefits coverage

  • Resolves escalated employee concerns and claims issues with vendors

  • Processes employee benefits requests

  • Maintains all benefits files

  • Manages enrollment issues including employee communications and informational meetings

  • Provides data management, reporting and analysis for all benefits and compensation programs

  • Manages communications and educational programs regarding plan changes

  • Ensures consistency in plan administration and regulatory compliance

  • Manages vendor/broker relations

  • Reviews monthly invoices from vendors for accuracy

  • Supports ad hoc related initiatives on a project management basis


Requirements and Skills:



  • Bachelors degree/5+ years of experience

  • General knowledge of federal and state laws relating to benefit plans including ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA and FMLA

  • Project management experience

  • Exposure to international facilitation of benefits programs

  • Vendor management experience

  • Computer proficiency

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Superior customer service and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable working through dynamic, matrix issues and dealing with ambiguity

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Outstanding organizational skills

  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
